It seems you are married to a man. Sorry about that
Deloitte 1 gets it, lol. But also sigh.
Separately, I have been using chatgpt to help me communicate with my husband. I put in both sides of the argument and then ask it to help me see both sides or to help me see why we may be seeing it differently. It has really helped me have less emotional conversations that have been really productive. It's worth a shot.
Prepped meals from Whole Foods, Sprouts and Costco have been a lifesaver for when I don’t have time to cook and don’t want take out. They have full meals, marinated meats and meals that just require some time in the oven. I like that it’s made with fresh ingredients and doesn’t feel overly processed. This doesn’t help with changing your husband’s mindset but it’s an option to feed the fam in a pinch.
(continuation) tried explaining this to him, but I still don’t think he really gets it. Please help me to get him to understand that this just isn’t a reasonable request. I would love to have time to do things like this, but as long as I remain in my current career (aka unless we win the lottery) it just doesn’t seem possible.
For context, we have 2 children, an 8 year old & an 18 month old, so life is very busy for both of us. He works in residential construction & often doesn’t find time in his day to eat, even when he brings lunch. So even if he was able to magically meal prep on the go, he also wouldn’t be able to find the time to do so during work.
You could prioritize taking a lunch even just to have a break from constant work/chores. If you take an hour & want to do something, you could go for a walk and throw together something in the crockpot and eat lunch. It could be life giving.
