I completely agree, it's so important to get a second opinion when your pet might need surgery. Not all vets have the same level of experience and expertise, or the same ethical standards. It's important to ensure that you find a vet who has your pet's best interests in mind and isn't trying to push procedures that aren't necessary or affordable.
So true! Everyone should get a second opinion before making any decisions regarding their pet's care and health. Unfortunately, there are some veterinarians who may try to persuade their clients into getting unnecessary and expensive procedures. I've personally seen it happen too many times and it's important that we all strive to be informed pet owners by researching procedures, asking questions, and seeking out a trusted veterinarian who puts your pet's care first.
I strongly discourage any pet owner from rushing into a decision to get their beloved pet surgery without getting a second opinion first. Unfortunately, in veterinary medicine it is very common to give incorrect diagnoses, even more so if the professional does not have sufficient experience.
