If family did not support kids as they went to college or pursued starting their own companies, what would the world be like?

Edit: I realize this is a reality for a lot of people. But I mean more like even financially well-off parents, if they never supported their kids and just made them wait tables to survive while pursuing college or med school etc.

Building out a new function at my company, top 15 bank in the US, and scheduled a 90 minute meeting last week for today. Invite included an agenda and a teams link to the document we would be reviewing. Also asked for attendees to review ahead. 20 minutes in, my co-worker exclaims while I’m mi-sentence we should meet Thurs. after having a chance to review content… WHAT?! What should I have done in that situation?

I’m so scared to let a relationship that gives me anxiety go because I’m 36 F and feel like I’m not going to find anyone else. He’s not a horrible person, but he can be inconsistent. When I bring it up to him he says he’ll try harder but then always goes back to default. I stick around because I think it’s more a personality trait and not that he’s not interested in me (maybe I’m naïve). Could really use some encouragement from a bunch of strangers.

I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group. LinkedIn is a garbage app where I can’t even post my opinion or experience because it will go against the mainstream ideologies. If I even “like” a post then I worry that my peers and managers see what I like and suddenly I need inclusivity training. What a load of shit! You can’t be who you truly are on that app. Which is why I like fishbowl so much, the anonymity is a game changer. If LinkedIn was a anonymous, we’d see a lot more support for Kanye and a lot less LGBQT material. Bet!
