If I am on LOA for 3 months and get my H4EAD within month 1, do I need to resign and then get rehired with Deloitte or is it a simple switch of the visa type and I can resume at the same role and salary ?

I reached out to BAL and they said if role/responsibilities change ill have to start from first. Does change of desination mean change of role ?
