McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

I dont think the recruiters decide what to offer. I always tell them that I have other interviews so that they won't drag their feet. That alone might not get you a higher offer though. You'd have to tell them you got a higher offer, but they could decide not to match it. Did you know the range beforehand and they just came lower than expected? How much higher do you want them to go? Companies expect you to negotiate, so don't walk away unless they're super far off.
It's best to just tell them whatever the truth is. If you have other interviews in the works and you're not impressed by the salary they're offering, you can say that. It's not being pushy, it's just factual. Or you could just tell them you're not thrilled with the compensation and you were hoping to get more. If you're honest and upfront it will save you from wasting time and getting offers you're not interested in.
Well said ! The nesy is to let them know the truth.
How to know range salary from the specific company ? or we just put high amount during iv?

Having interviews lined up isn't leverage, having a better offer that you are willing to accept is.
Ask for more if that's what you're worth, and lean into why you are worth more.
It really doesn’t matter if the recruiter likes you. They may do an initial screening but most hiring and salary decisions are made between the hiring manager and HR. I think that’s why it sometimes takes them so long to get back to candidates because they basically play phone tags between you and those making the decisions.

I would not tell them personally and just negotiate as I normally do
