If I’m about to be unassigned for a week, should I ask for work to look good? Or just do trainings for “8” hours a day to fill my time sheet?

Don't log on all week and charge a bunch of food to your corporate card for the neighborhood cookout you're hosting sponsored by EY

On-site training in Ibiza, right? Firm sponsored, naturally.

Yes be proactive and reach out to your resource manager, it’s normal to have downtime sometimes enjoy it

On a side note, it’s pretty wild audit has downtime here. My last regional firm was going 55-60 hours until mid May and anyone with downtime got thrown in a dumpster fire

At what point are you too specialized to lateral to internal audit? (PA, consulting, or industry roles) Currently have 2 years of external audit experience and 2 years of forensics: I always thought of internal audit as a decent exit but I’m beginning to get worried about getting too specialized to make that move one day

So my VP at my previous company felt bad and refused to speak to me or attend my farewell after my resignation. His reason was that I somehow betrayed his trust as he had promoted me just last year (after keeping the position open for 4 months and letting me take additional work load after the previous SM left!). Does this make any sense? I mean where does this sense of entitlement or ownership over the employees come from? No wonder the company in question is kind of facing a literal exodus!

Does any of the big4 firm allow working remote from Canada/ overseas? Any policies that restrict that?

When you budget for your engagements, what percentage of staff time is your budgeted manager time? I have always heard manager time should be about 50% of staff time but now leadership is pushing back. I have found the 50% to reflect reality. Managers don't reperform the work but have to do a detailed review. Thoughts?
