More in-house roles for corporate work (contract review/negotiation). Also more for regulatory and privacy than litigation. SEC, finance, and M&A are a different story (most companies only need 1 each, who also does something more).
Honestly depends on the type of corporate or litigation. Generally I would say M&A has the better chance. Id put other transactional practice areas up there too (finance, commercial real estate). Litigation you probably aren't doing big enough cases unless its a big named boutique you are working on, unless its a specific type like insurance coverage, consumer protection, etc.
Depending on what you like, but corporate path may give you more opportunities in general
