I have an MHA and 4 years of management experience. I’m currently a manager, but seeking a director level position. Any advice for trying to temper my expectations? I feel like all director level positions have 5 years in the posting, but a lot of my peers with the same experience are already in director level positions. Are they just lucky? Asking for a friend but also have concerns myself - What’s the consulting recruiting thoughts on a second, or third degree from campus recruiting? For example someone went to a big state U for undergrad but got a master (non-mba) or phd from a lvy?

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.

Hey, I have been trying to land on a job since march and only been facing rejections. I will be graduating in the month of december and I have no offer in hand.
