If KPMG’s policy provides only 2 weeks of pre-birth disability leave, but the state I live in allows for 4 weeks, am I entitled to the full 4 weeks under state law, or only the 2 weeks provided by my employer?

Agree with M1 that state law usually supercedes and protects your ability to take the time provided under state law, but note that if the employer is offering more pay than the state, the employer can generally set their own terms for the additional pay.

Not at KPMG, but my experience is that you enter an unpaid leave status for 2 weeks. But your state provides salary (depending on your total salary it may just be a portion of it).

I’m around 21 weeks and have been dealing with a lot of leg, tailbone, back, and general muscle pain. Since I do work long hours Monday- Wednesday (10hr +) I’m trying find a comfortable chair to switch to. Any recommendations? Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

I’m 8.5 weeks pregnant and throwing up once per day, mostly after the majority of my lunch has been digested and sometimes after all of it has digested so I’m gagging and nothing coming up. It’s so hard to see the end of this road, I feel miserable.

Trigger: rare illness post birth

Just sharing that I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia 3 days after giving birth despite not having risk factors or preeclampsia in my pregnancy. Sharing as I had absolutely no idea about this illness.

Main things to do are check your BP everyday at least the first ten days after you give birth, and go to hospital if it's very high (over 160/110). If you get severe headache or stomach ache then also be vigilant.
