The places I didn't give two weeks notice to were not bridges that were either (i) worth keeping or (ii) had already been burnt.

More so early in my career. You know FB titles don't actually mean anything?

Always fun to go out with a bang. If I found out a potential candidate went out that way, I'd be more inclined to hire them cause it shows they have cajones
I gave one week notice Monday, he should be glad that was given. Came back Tuesday and packed my desk. Said yell at me and I’m gone, I’m now training my replacement whom I started without boss man knowing training 2 weeks ago
While it's always best to try and give 2 weeks notice it's totally subjective. I've given notice, been asked to stay longer and then the very next day asked to resign. Companies are going to do the best for them as well you should. If you're leaving there's a reason. Would they give you two weeks notice after deciding to fire you? Absolutely not.

People take work too seriously. If you aren't operating on someone or defending them in court, none of this other crap matters. Do the job and collect a paycheck. Treat people like crap you'll only get the same in return
They rarely keep you the two weeks anyways.
I think that depends on the position and the reason the person is leaving. in my experience, it’s been about 60/40. And that 40% a good majority of them were sales.

Make sure to gather all the information you need before you leave (401k, PTO left, contacts, etc) in case they tell you not to come back after giving notice. Once that's all set, send your boss a power message

If you have a good relationship with your manager and are planning on using them as a professional reference in the future I’d give two weeks as a courtesy to him/her. You don’t want them to remember you as the person that bailed with no notice.
Try to avoid bridges as much as possible. More senior opportunities often do deep background checks. Job I recently interviewed for required 2-3 references from every one of my employers over the last 10 years
Correct. Boss plus 1-2 peers
No. It does not matter
I think it depends on the work environment. There is no legal requirement (that I’m aware of) to give a two week notice especially states that are “at will.” It is a courtesy more than anything, and it used to be that employers would use that two week buffer to hire someone else into the position and adequately plan for the employee’s departure. We all know hiring takes weeks if not months.

Most companies don't even deserve a notice based on the way they treat their employees. Just stop doing the job, collect the paychecks for as long as you can, and move on.
Always fun 😊
