If your firm gives out bonuses, what time of the year do you usually receive it? Is it the same time/month every year?

December every year, plus a mid-year bonus some time in the summer some years

I’ve been at a few firms. For non-attorneys, it’s always before the year end, typically in November or December before Christmas. I’ve seen attorney bonuses pay out in late December and January. Partner bonuses are usually not until January or February or sometimes even later in the following year.

As a non-attorney, I usually have my annual review before year-end and get told what my bonus will be, but I’ve often had to wait months, until February or March, for it to be paid out. This has been my experience across two big law firms.

like

At my first firm it was just me and partner and bonus was last working day before Christmas. At current 15 attorney firm associate bonuses are early January.

We are told in February the bonus amount and have to wait til April for pay out.

The past two mid-sized firms I worked for were consistently mid-December.

Typically the second paycheck in December

July 31st and December 31st for me

Not 100% sure for the attorneys, but for support staff, we get quarterly retention bonuses after 1 year with the firm the first payday after the end of the quarter (paid for the prior quarter). If we meet/exceed our billing target in a quarter, we get a % bonus for that, I believe also the first payday after the end of the quarter (this is a somewhat new addition for us). Our attorneys are paid solely on bill and collect and so there is sort of a built-in bonus for them because after a set number of hours billed and collected the % they earn for their pay increases. I'm not sure if they have any bonuses beyond that though.

Our review process starts December but we have our annual review meeting with the head partner of our group in February/March. March is when we get any bonuses.

We get quarterly bonuses. But previously firms pay annual bonuses have paid me on the last paycheck of the year and the bigger firm I worked for paid in February

My last firm paid out around March or April.

Hi Recruiters,
Let’s talk cover letters.
What do you think makes a good one? Length? Content? What should definitely be in there and definitely be left out?
What’s the biggest mistake you see people make?
Who is actually reading them? You? The department heads?
Bonus points if you can give insight into the way this works with the Creative Department. (I’m a Copywriter.)

Hello Fishes, I interviewed at a company in October and they responded to me after a month. I accepted the verbal offer last week Wednesday. They said they would give written offer in a week. I have recruiters from the same company reach out for positions at different locations. My current recruiter said once I accept this I can't interview for other positions at the same company. Their process is so slow that I don't really want to miss out on any chance. What would be a great time to follow up?
