I'm 31 and been in public accounting for 9 years, but the burnout is really getting to me. I am seriously thinking of quitting with no backup plan and selling my place... I'm single with no kids and just want to be a free bird and travel. I don't want to be in the same place another decade from now with regrets and dreading my life. I have no desire to do anything accounting related anymore so IDK where to start or pivot. Should I take a gap year? Or find remote work in an unrelated field?

If you can truly afford to take the time off, do that. I am risk adverse, so personally, I would start with a remote position. That's just me.

What I really want to tell you though, is that the wrong role or the wrong company will have you wanting to leave your profession. Try another job before leaving behind all of your knowledge and expertise.

Being a mother, I have anxiety and nervousness about joining a service based company bcoz of doubts below.

2. How good is WLB at TW for a Lead Consultant? Approx working hours on a daily basis?
3. How flexible is TW for WFH?

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone could give me some advice. I’ve been taking care of my extremely sick (literally on the verge of dying) dog. I work from home so it’s not too much of a nuisance but I feel distracted all day long and can hardly get anything done because I worry about my dog. I feel like I’d benefit from a day off or even half a day off but I’ve only been working for my firm for a month now, plus I have “discretionary time off.” Would it be okay for me to ask for a day off?

This is not good right. What should be my reply to the client in such a case and how to handle manager on this?
