Best thing I ever did was dropping out the moment I was offered a job save a half a year worth of tuition.
Same here -- dropped out after a semester to take an entry level copy jov I got without them even knowing I was in ad school lol. It made absolutely no difference to my career 😭
The prestige of fancy ad and design schools has faded…
I’m not sure it was ever really “prestigious”, but it afforded us all some time and space to play, discover, network, party, and maybe grow up a bit before entering agency life. I’m grateful for the time I had there. Had a lot of fun, learned a little, travelled a bit. Got more life experience that I think helped deepen my reservoir of experience.

I went to a state university. Got into Art Center, but when I saw how much the tuition was, I almost had a heart attack in my early twenties, so I went to community college first and then transferred. I sometimes felt that if I had gone to Miami Ad School or something like that, I would’ve gotten further faster and had more contacts. But, IDK, I’ve worked along side grads from all those private schools and for the most part, I haven’t been impressed at all by their overall talent or performance.
Art center dropout here once base courses were done and portfolio building started I figured I could do that myself, so I did
So glad I never wasted money on this place.
