I don’t read books to gain knowledge, as most said I can watch the author promote their book or Ted talks and such, and will get the key points. But I love reading novels, especially historical ones. It’s not about gaining knowledge, it’s just so much fun!
I’m a high-performer in my group and find other ways to stay up to date on topics. I’m not anti-reading, I just feel like books (especially business books) are so much work for a few valuable nuggets

All good no one reads books nowadays you’re in the majority LOL.....

Cliff notes

Most authors also go ‘on tour’ to promote their latest books, and you can listen to their 15m podcast feature to gain 80% the understanding.
Many predict book publishers will continue to be squeezed as authors and journalists jump to platforms like Medium and Substack.
Get Blinkist. That’s how I get by on “reading” stupid books that are poorly written but oft quoted by people on LinkedIn. If a Blinkist summary actually piques your interest, you can get an actual copy of the book to enjoy after.
