I’d love to do some international travel with family when my kids are a little older, say 6-8 years from now. Is it worth it to save money specifically for this (and if so, what’s a good saving vehicle for that timeframe) , or should I just keep generally saving and investing as usual and plan on having enough liquid savings to pay when the time comes?
I don’t know what it is about certifications but I love them. Feels like leveling up in a video game.

Is anyone else trying to find the balance between being for the company and for the employees?
I've been told I'm too much in favour of the employees when I'm defending the lower-paid employees, or talking about employee well-being, but somehow it's ok when the higher-ups go out of their way to give the higher-paid employees financial assistance, or to allow toxic managers to continue in their positions because their feelings shouldn't be hurt.
Be honest, fellow HR folx, am I too idealistic?
Happy new year 🥳🥳🥳

Leaving my firm after being here for over 5 years. Wish I had kept better track of the number of deals and projects I worked on and the emails I'd want to save. All the emails will be lost to me forever, which is an odd feeling.

As much as logistics spans the globe, let's face it, it's still a male-dominated world, especially at the managerial and operational levels. How is the company you work for addressing this?
Any books or online courses you would suggest that cover data science solutions for supply chain?
Was trucking my load across statelines, as one usually does. Turns out the new guy sitting next to me was never properly trained on how to secure said load inside the truck. Now we're trying to put everything back in it's place and it's so annoying. I don't blame him but still.
Fellow fishes, do you think suppliers have learned anything from the devastating effects of the pandemic? I guess it just magnified the existing problems in the supply chain. So, what do you think should be top of mind in making supply chains more resilient?
Management offered me a new role and training for it too, but I’m moving countries very soon like in 4 months so I rejected it and offered to stay in my same role. Though even in my same role they’re giving me an increase in responsibility + pay.
Now 1 - I feel weird accepting this cause I know I’m leaving
2 - I feel bummed to have not accepted the other opportunity because I was excited for it, now I’m wondering if I made the right decision

I have a Bachelors degree unrelated to Supply Chain, about 2 years of experience in the warehouse and I’ve been a Supply Chain Analyst for 8 months. I make 60K currently working in a non-profit organization, but want to increase my salary. What could I do to increase my salary in the next year? Should I get certifications? Can anyone help me land a supply chain role with Northrop Grumman in Philly or MD? I have applied for about 60 positions now, some referrals some not, and have not landed an interview. I am beginning to believe my experience just isn't good enough. If anyone is willing to provide a referral, advocate by making a connection to an actual hiring manager, or even just examine my work experience and point me toward the roles to apply for, I would truly appreciate it. Thanks and Happy Holidays.
What state is best to work in logistics? I am thinking somewhere along the coast, but I am not sure where exactly.

If the culture is bad, there is no way to recover.
Find a different working environment, one that preferably allows for a flexible schedule
If you still don't feel recovered after your long vacation then the job is not for you. Time to look for another job, unfortunately. Good luck.
Hey! That three-week vacation is already enough time to recover. However, if you feel just as awful after taking it, it is probably the work environment per se that's stressing you out.
How is your company culture? The first thing you should do is to identify the main cause of your stressor. Once you do, you'll now be able to find a solution.
Reaching a point of burnout can bring up feelings of failure and a loss of purpose or life direction. You might feel as if you can’t do anything properly or you’ll never achieve your goals. When you reach a point of burnout, you’ve probably pushed yourself past the point of what most people would realistically consider themselves capable of for some time.
Hello! I suggest you talk to a therapist. A therapist can offer professional guidance by helping you identify causes, explore possible coping methods, and navigate any life challenges contributing to burnout.
Make enough time for restful sleep. Spend time with loved ones, but don’t overdo it — alone time is important, too.
Lastly, try to get some physical activity in each day.
You don't. Leave.
A week vacation and still not recovering from the burnout looks for a new environment and a switch. But then, it has just been 2 days since you came from vacation. I understand you may feel like you are not yet done with the fun. Just give it a week or more to adjust.
Hmmm, do you still feel passionate about your job? I think that after three weeks if you really enjoyed your work you would miss it a little but if after two days back you already want to go then it maybe time to consider a transition.
You need a new job!
I go on vacation for at least a month if I am not in a good state. Maybe you are no longer happy with your work? Or maybe your colleagues are toxic?
Don't you think it's time to find a new job? I don't think what you are experiencing is ordinary burnout.
