Hello I got a confirmation from HR at Shell that I have been selected for a role and there will be background checks before joining the company. He said the mail will come from a 3rd party vendor for the background verification. It has been 1 week and there has been no mails till now. Is it normal? Should I follow up with the HR again?
Hey fishes
I have received two mails from Tiger Analytics one is a case study and
other sql assessment
In case study it is mentioned to

Anyone have idea for it's timelines
Also it would be really helpful if any
experience is shared regarding what
kind of questions are expected for
this assessment.

It’ll depend on what’s important to you - Sr. Manager tends to simply be an indication of experience (and thus salary) rather than any specific added responsibility (this isn’t always the case, but I feel is a reasonable generalization) - and looks good on your resume as career growth.
That lateral move could also do the same thing - change in company and product portfolio shows adaptability and growth - and if the money is right for you, go for it.
If you feel the role should be a senior title, ask why it isn’t with the HM - you can say it feels like it’s a senior title and indicate that the growth into a title is important for your development if you feel you need to.
Great, points. Thanks so much for the perspective :)
so if its a different product than the ones you worked on you might need to reconsider the seniority thing and go for it to enrich your portfolio and get more experience. Titles are useless, its all about what you would get and what you would bring to the table
This is really helpful perspective, thank you :)
