I would suggest looking for corporate jobs within the retail area you currently work. If you can transition to the corporate side, you have a better shot at remote jobs.
Apply for remote customer service jobs in banking, credit cards financial services. Best be prepared to expect these jobs to move to AI in the next several years so try to advance as soon as you can.
I'll be real dawg. You have nothing going for you right now if this is your end goal. Your resume looks as good as someone who has never worked when it comes to remote jobs.
Remote jobs right now are a premium commodity that are used to either suppress wages by getting someone to do a job for less than market rate just for the comfort of WFH, or to attract top talent. Sometimes both.
Get a degree. Preferably in accounting, or transfer to Retail phone sales.
My brother worked for Bluefox, an xfinity contractor and then was able to transition into Comcast b2b inside sales wfh after a district manager from Comcast noticed him.
I'd also get a degree from WGU or University of the people online to make you more competitive.
I have a flexible, portable online business in the high ticket success education industry. It's not for everyone and I certainly don't take on everyone who applies.
It enables me to market in various countries for a minimum of 3 hours a day.
Also, download Copilot. Learn how to use it. Ask questions like, “I’m looking to make a career change, give me a list of suggestions in order to make a successful switch”; “what tools, systems and skillset do you need to find a remote job”, etc. Go on YouTube and watch some videos to learn the basics of Excel and other tools. If you do not have a home computer/laptop, it is probably time to invest in one. In your free time learn how to use these things. You need to have educated conversations. If you can’t find the time to put in effort to make it happen, it won’t happen. If you don’t have a degree, consider going back and getting one in business, even if it’s just an associate. You can take classes online after work. That will help build up your computer skills as well. You will likely not find something overnight, especially in this economy but if you put in the work, you likely can be in a better place in 2-3 years.
Try foundever or dynata i didn't have any remote work from home experience and they both gave me a shot and some work from home jobs do supply the equipment but others don't and u have to supply it urself
Are you interested in a job where you can work from the comfort of your home on your phone?
It sounds good to me
All of you have such excellent and constructive opinions and sources, I'll have to comb over everything and organize all of it, but all this advice is greatly appreciated from everyone.
They are going to expect you to know computers so check with your local Goodwill. I know that one close to me offers free computer classes and job placement assistance. Best of luck to you!
Yes, they do offer computer skills training on Microsoft programs. Basic General computer and Internet, Excel, Word and Power Point
My business is in the distribution of high ticket personal development programs. You can work flexible hours, from anywhere. DM me if interested.
Computers is a must. Can you take a class or something? Even online?
I have basic experience in Microsoft Office, and I'm quick to learn.

Definitely use this in between time to level up your skills. There are lots of free sources online to help you with your computer literacy skills. To work from home, you will need proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as Google Applications (which are pretty much the same). And there are plenty of free online tutorials and YouTube videos for these applications. Coursera also offers some free courses in these applications.
Otherwise, start thinking about what skills you have sharpened in retail that would be most transferrable to a remote role. Consider whether you would like to work in sales (which might be the easiest transition) versus operations or administration. What were your best skills? Customer de-escalations, inventory, procurement (purchasing, ordering), displays? Once you are able to name those skills, you can list them on a resume in addition to the MS Office applications you have trained on. You can also use AI to look for remote job titles that would match with someone with your skills. Don't forget to update your LinkedIn profile with the same information. Then utilize LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Remote.co, Virtual Vocations (paid subscription), EarnBetter and other sources for remote jobs to search for those titles. Then, in this current environment, it would probably be best to search out people who work at these companies and request to connect with them regarding their experiences as well as what they would suggest you do to find work with their company and tell them what you would be qualified to do. Aim to reach out to at least 2 people per position you are interested in applying for.

If you’re open to the idea of starting an online business while you still hold onto your position in retail, DM me.
Go do a masters or bachelors in accounting
