What is your MOS? If you are in transportation, engineers, motor pool mechanic, supply/quartermaster, MPs, healthcare, etc. there are civilian applications for those skills. If you're a sniper, not so much. If you have a rank of sergeant or higher, you can also boast leadership and team management skills. Contact your local VA officer and even your CO for assistance. Many companies give preference to those with military service because serving is a good indicator of a person's character and commitment to making a difference. It shows you know how to take orders, accomplish tasks and, with higher ranks, able to direct others to achieve results.
Can you define the “can’t find a job problem”? What I mean by this, is where are you falling short in the process? Getting interviews or not being selected for a position? Either way you, should check out Hire Military as a resource to get helpful ways to build a network, which can help you get in the door and hopefully close it behind you.
The biggest challenge for military is the transferable civilian experience. Yes, some things to translate but how much we give ourselves can be over embellished. 5 years of traditional National Guard is not really 5 years of experience. Recruiters know this and often but not always, can seem to a recruiter that the applicant is not being realistic. There are so many ways to get yourself not looked at, by simply what you put down about your experiences.
That’s why I said to look at Hire Military and build your LinkedIn network and network while commenting and posting will help, not 100% get you toward that job you want.
I have 26 total years in the National Guard with more than 18 current Active Guard. I am learning too and it is humbling because sometimes we think we are bigger than what we really are.
Hope this helps!

You should look at title 32 positions on usajobs, they specifically require you to be part of the national guard(red flag icon), not sure if specifically your local area but give it a try. Might find a job fitting your skillset. My account still says 14E but I'm actually a federal employee in an IT position, resume was polished after I got out of active duty and thankfully landed and amazing job via usajobs. Even with the current administration, I believe jobs posted at this time are exempt from hiring freeze.. although maybe(?) Not from the RIF coming so perhaps stay local.
Look up your states and work for warriors they help build your resume and help you find a job and from what the rep told us at yellow ribbon it's free
