I’m a PE associate and my week is basically: models, IC memo edits, CIM review, repeat. We close a deal, and two days later I’m already staffed on the next one. There’s no recovery window. How are people actually managing energy at this level without torching their health?

Nope, once the burnout sets in you're done for with no recovery time. I'm about to be looking somewhere else... And btw, to whoever said that joining a firm doesn't get you a work-life balance, the previous PE position I had had a way better work-life balance than this place does. Burnout ages you physically and mentally on top of deteriorating your general health... Some people may not care as long as they get big money, but I'm at a point where I'm thinking, how much is my Life actually worth monetarily? The job market isn't quite as good as when I started here, and I will probably have to take a pay cut if I go back into Private industry at a small or mid-sized company, but I'd much rather work in that environment and I'm pretty sure I've aged 10 years in the last two in my position. It's going to inevitably take years off your life if you spend long periods of time in burnout, completely stressed. What are those extra years of your life worth? I wonder from the person who said just look at your bank account exactly how much money he deems worth it for each year of his life...
At the same time, is it really a pay cut? Not hourly it sure wouldn't be! Because I wouldn't have to be working tons of extra hours constantly just to get everything done in time. So, maybe less money yearly, but I'll also be able to enjoy that money without constantly worrying about getting shit done on time... And I'll probably save plenty on skin care products when the stress stops aging me more!!!

Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?

Need some feedback! So I was forced to move jobs about 6 months ago due to reorg and the new leader opting to bring their existing EA with them, without even meeting me. If stayed at the company but accepted an offer for a job outside of the department I was in. I’ve now been asked by a manager from my old department to apply for a job they’re opening that would be a 2 step promotion. She thought she got my managers permission to approach me (see comments)

I’m on the consulting side (FDD) and I’m curious if there are PE firms with good WLB. I’m happy with my pay, growth, and hours. I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups. It is an important trait to have in this job and I just don't know how to do this. It makes me very upset - I even sought therapy but wasn't useful. I can't spend 14 hours each day feeling like this:(
