I'm an overseas based strat freelancer. Most of my clients are US-based agencies. Up until now I've been contracting via my green card, but will be soon giving that up and will also have to dissolve my S-corp. I'm in the process of setting up my business in Aus.

Q - what is that process like in terms of financials/legals? What info do HR teams generally need from me in contracts / on invoices in order to engage and pay me as an international biz based overseas?

Once I get my H1B issued, how soon can I apply for a greencard and how long does the process take from application to receipt of the greencard? For reference, I’m born Canadian (I think birth country plays a factor in this?) and is it better to apply through my employer or apply on my own?

I am required to travel to Canada anyway for my PR stamping and I am trying to figure out if I can get my H1B stamped around the same time while I am in Canada for my PR, since it is extremely difficult to get appointments in India these days? Has anyone successfully interfiled from eb3 back to eb2 after a job change to get their i-485 approved and green card processed... this is related to movement of dates in Oct 2020 when many of us from India downgraded from eb2 to eb3 because of eb3 india dates moving faster than eb2 and now eb2 final action dates are becoming current?

Meeting with a recruiter at one of the FAANG companies. I won’t be able to move jobs because of H1b /GC at least for the next year. Any idea if I should start off with that or should I just try to understand the work that they have been doing?

How flexible is Deloitte with the start date because of H1b processing time? I signed the offer mid-may for July 12 because it seemed realistic enough for premium H1b transfer. But the lawyers seem slower than what I was used to and July 12 does not seem likely. Is this going to be a problem?

Hi all, my H1B got approved today and I am waiting on the actual physical notice. In parallel I have a L2 EAD extension request in process. My H1B is valid from oct 1 only. Can I withdraw my L2 tomorrow? Is it okie if I am out of status for nine days? I am worried that the L2 will get approved. If it does get approved, what do I do?

Joining Deloitte shortly. Was told that since I have an approved EAD/AP they will not be filing a H1B. Is this a common practice?
