I’m applying for accounting manager jobs that involve a lot of consolidations, foreign currency translation for financial statements but I have limited experience in that. I’m a little scared that I might not be able to adapt/learn. How would you guys learn about a concept that you’re not 100% familiar with at a new job assuming you’re expected to figure it out with 0 help since you’re a “manager level” person. Are there accounting coaches online or on YouTube that can help?

What’s the culture like at H+K? I get the impression that it’s a lot more up tight than other big agencies. I get old school, suited up, lobbying type PR vibes but I could be wrong.

However , they are now asking me for immediate joining which is not possible(as per HR) as i am serving notice period of which less then 45days are left.
I have made this clear on day 1 to the recruiters
One more thing, they are not offering any decent package
Eg- Deloitte is offering 15LPA for a 7.5yrs exp Scrum Master

Can you get fired for having low utilization as a senior? My billable hours this busy season have been much lower than my peers.

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
