I’m at the final round of interviews at two companies, Shoppers Drug Mart and McCain Foods and I don’t know which one to choose from.

Shoppers Drug Mart is a Canadian company whereas McCain Foods is known globally. McCain is the same job title as what I’ve currently done in the past whereas Shoppers job title sounds nicer and slightly different than what I’ve done. I’m conflicted. Which one is a better company or would look better on my resume?

Id say wait to see the answer from both jobs before thinking about what to choose. First do good at both final interviews and try to get both. Then if you get both, weigh the scale of the better title vs the actual roles and the pay and see which one fits what you are looking for more!

While you wait for both responses. Start to map out your ideal work arrangements. For example. your Desired salary, work flexibility etc. This exercise allows you determine your priorities for work fulfilment and enables you negotiate better before accepting an offer. Of course neither job will match all your wants but at least you will be better informed to ask the right questions in order to make the right decision. Also you mentioned Shoppers sounds like a new and exciting opportunity. Sometimes that's enough to make a decision. hope this helps. Advice-: From a podcast based on the book,' '4 hour work week" 'People focus too much on job titles instead of focusing on the lifestyle that you want for your future self. Write down your ideal personal & work life and only start searching for jobs that will eventually get you to that ideal. A surfer who wants to live a surfer lifestyle, wont move to New York City and rent an apartment. They will most probably relocate to a beach destination and live out their van. All this wont happen overnight but with conscious planning, you will get there. hope this helps.

Looking for the essential UI type styles for a style guide. I need to create a UI style guide for a website without actually designing a website. I’m curious what everyone sees as a broadly helpful set of type styles and what each purpose would be. eg H1/Display headline, H2/Display subheads, H3/Page headers, H4/Page subhead, H5/ Module headers, H6/ Labels or eyebrows, Large text, Medium text, Caption text, Text link, Button

(I know, I know H tags are about importance not scale)

Company on track for 22 goals. Traditionally included 2% profit sharing at YE, this year however comes with a unique caveat.

The CEO added a qualifier, to be eligible for the payout one must agree to and sign a binding arbitration agreement. In the CEOs email to staff he indicates these agreements are standard in most companies and typically required for new hires.

I’m curious to get insight from others. Is this standard practice and generally required for new hires? Something feels off.

Curious to know what you've seen as working to non working dollars split in Canadian agencies. Reference any specific brands (or categories) if you can. New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.
