Vibes are bad. Morale is low, no one is getting raises or promotions, and it’s lame. Everyone hates Omnicom. If Publicis knows what’s good for them, they’ll match whatever Omnicom is offering you. Don’t come here.
Abandon all hope, ye who enter there.
Und darmkrebs.
After being laid off with the explanation “jobs are being transitioned to offshore” and reading that Omnicom/IPG are looking to make $15B in labor cuts - I would suggest otherwise. However, they did have a lot of open positions when I left, so…
Saatchi LA / Dallas has layoffs every April and September now. New hires seem to be fine, but it gutted morale and teams just keep getting smaller. The benefits were okay and the work wasn't stressful other than some difficult clients and constant agency reorgs.
You’re better off with your current firm. Structure and strategy from the top-down here in OmniCON Land has been very dysfunctional.
I would highly recommend Omnicom if you don’t want a 401k, want to work 60+ hours a week with 10 annual PTO days, and shit health insurance that doesn’t have coverage for a lot of their clients medications they are advertising.
it seems like everyone of us at Omnicom are looking to get into Publicis instead. Comparatively it seems Publicis is much better across the board about slightly caring about the employees and basic benefits.
I don’t know how it is now, but when I worked at Publicis 20 years ago, if you worked late they had a car service set up to drive you home, and you could expense your dinner.

It’s not ideal. But it depends on your scenario. If you’re one of the people they have to value, you’ll do fine. Otherwise…. the gears are grinding.
Don’t.

Don’t do it!!
Every 5 mins there’s a policy change, I stayed wondering how leadership found their way home at night, no one spoke about logistics or operating systems before the merger, like why do you have a whole system for timesheets but cant figure out how to have employees use it because no one could figure out the job # sequences! Which means as a contractor you didn’t get paid while they tried to figure it out!
The grass is not greener. In fact, it’s brown.
Don’t do it
stay away!
Are you in CoLab, by any chance? If you're in CoLab, forget what everyone said and -run-. Grinding in a sweatshop is still better than drowning like a rat on a sinking ship.
