Same for my children. I felt like our UCLA doctors were told to push that medication because it did nothing for either of my children. They kept upping the dosage until I finally had to tell them to change the medication to Vyvanse, which had been effective in the past.
I had to put my foot down.
I hope the medication works for you. If it does not, please tell your doctor and advocate for yourself.
I would not change anything right now.
Several years ago, I switched (from Ritalin to Adderall). It was a nightmare, and I have taken Ritalin (generic) ever since.
Interestingly, I have a friend who had the same issue when she switched from Adderall to Ritalin.

I got my diagnosis late in life and the only medication I've been on is Stattera. It has worked well for me. I do have to take it early in the morning cause if I take it after 12 - I don't really sleep.
Strattera had no effect on me whatsoever…
I have been on / off Strattera for a while, I don’t recall ever having any initial side effects. Overall side effects were just low libido and appetite
I haven't taken that before but my brother has. He didn't ever have any side effects but I know every person is different. I would think if anything two weeks would be long enough for you to get adjusted to it.
It helped at first, I ended up building a tolerance to it and just quit working for me. I’ve tried different non-stimulant ADHD medications and haven’t had much success with them. The stimulant medications were the only ones that helped me the most.
