This is something that I have been actively working on for a long time. It's not easy, because we've been conditioned over the years to be basically obsessed with our phones. I am getting better, though, and I am down to about one hour of screen time a day that isn't related to my job.
Oh this is good though! I do try to read when I’m not at work but it’s hard sometimes when all you want to do is play games and endlessly scroll
Every time I step away from my screen, I end up just staring at my smaller screen, lol. I don't know if it's even possible these days to log off the internet completely.
Honestly I can relate though, it’s so easy to just relax on your phone :/
I get told the same thing but honestly, I never manage it either. Once I’m in the flow, I just keep going. Do you find screen breaks actually help you reset, or just break momentum?
Yeah exactly, for me if I’m on a roll then stepping away would lose my momentum so it feels wrong to break that
I like to decompress from my medium screen by looking at the smaller screen or the bigger one!
Hahha relatable
I relate to this so much. I tell myself I’ll take a break, then three hours vanish and I’m still glued to my screen. What helps me is setting an alarm or tying breaks to natural pauses, like after sending something off.
I set certain locks on apps if I’ve been on there for too long! Otherwise it’s so easy to lose track of time
