yes you can say that you got hike from old company so ask them to revise your offer letter accordingly..You need not hesitate just ask for it!!
Thank you
Discuss your current compensation with the new company
I would say if u have less stress in ur current job, then ask for better increment instead of going to new company.
If it is about learning new things, then go to new company for sure. But ask to revise offer letter
Are you answering your own question?
This is my first time switching so I just wanted to understand how it goes
Discuss with the new company to update their offer. Also I would suggest since it's your first switch, 5.5 to 7.5 isn't a good hike. I would ask you to try for other companies as during the first switch, you can easily expect somewhere from 80% to 200% hike based on your starting salary assuming you're working in the IT(software) sector. I would suggest you to aim a little higher than 100% hike. This will help you in the long run.
Thanks a lot for your advice,
I'm currently under payroll, so I'm not sure of how much should be expected 😅
How many years of experience do you have?
If less than 2 yoe, then you are already getting much much more than others with that level of yoe.
In my opinion, even regardless of the yoe, 5.5 to 7.5 is not an enough difference to consider the switch.
Hi MDR Analyst,
To be really frank, you are already getting a good salary comparing to your yoe. So basically, your current salary also sounds idealistic. And so is the one which you are expecting!
But though it is idealistic, it is not impossible. If one company doesn’t agree for 12 but offers you 9, take that offer and try for the next company.
Conclusion: We can keep trying for more and more counter offers to reach our destination.
