I'm in my late 30's that works in the facilities dept for a hospital trying to switch career to being a pharmacy technician for the same hospital. I'm enrolled for fall classes for pharmacy tech school. I'm trying to avoid retail as much as I can. I have a 5 year plan. Get my certificate, gain experience with pharmacy workflow for a hospital and move to their clinical informatics dept. Any advise?

I’m a 9th year in a mostly litigation-based practice group at a one-tier partnership firm. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?

Does anyone have any insight into partners retiring early? I am at a point where I need to consider leaving if I am not aiming for partner. I don’t see myself working past my 40s. My partner and I are not big spenders and anticipate have enough to retire comfortably in 40s (obviously a lot can change). I have been assured I will become SM in next year (currently 31 years old).
