Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. And my city don't have harman office. HR did mention permanent remote, still want to confirm as I've heard many cases people were called back across different product based companies. "Decide my life for me, but not only that, please provide a reason"
How could we possibly decide that? 😐
You’ll need to double your salary for anything in SF, unless you don’t mind having a couple roommates. LA is fun if you move there knowing someone; it’s hard meeting (normal) people.
How do you make 90k at a wpp Agency at 25 in NYC?!
there’s a decent agency seen in LA.
as for San Fran - in all honesty, how does anyone manage to live there on less than $200K ?
Have you done any preliminary research? It’s a lot easier to give someone advice when they’re asking for input on X vs Y, than “tell me what to do"
Inwood. McDonals manager.
@Project Manager OP I’ve lived in LA and am in SF monthly for work. LA is going to give you more for your money but truly getting outside of the city to decompress is important, SF all the way. You have to do more work to make friends in LA but you also have the benefit of seeing a lot of emerging talent at local shows and plays. It honestly depends on which city you vibe with more. At 21 I was all LA all the way but at 29 I’d probably choose SF.
LA > SF. Weather and scene are better
How could I possibly decide that? 😩 Idk wtf I’m doing.
@Project Manager OP What are you actually looking for in a gig/agency/lifestyle? Get those things squared away and then do a bit of research. Like I’d tell you LA / Senior PM / MullenLowe if it were me but I don’t know what you’re looking for in your next move so that could be terrible advice.
@Project Manager OP They hire smart people and they make good work; there are a few LA shops that do, I just personal experience with them. That being said, LA and SF are wildly different. Have you visited either? What’s your vibe?
I’ve heard awesome things about Saatchi LA. If I was willing to move to LA, I’d work there
How TF are you making 90k at WPP right now?! I can’t even get 50
I negotiate hard.
@Vice President 1, agreed on salary in SF...what are the names of decent agencies in LA? Don’t want to apply and end up at a bad place there.
@Strategy Director 1 - happy to do so! I don’t know the industry in LA which is why I ask. Tell me more about MullenLowe?
@Strategy Director 1, I’ve visited SF but not LA yet. I’ll visit LA within the next week or two. MullenLowe sounds promising from what you’ve said...and visiting is very different from having to live/work. Again an outsider’s perspective. What do you like better and why? I really don’t know which is why I ask.
