Don’t do it. You’ll be pigeonholed on cleared client sites forever. Government work is the same no matter how sexy the agency name may be.
There are some opportunities, but few and far between. The FSP world can be a whole new animal, but if you find the right offices and positions, you can be doing some interesting work. Not a wholesale “no"
Are there general consulting roles that require FSP?
Go Fed and actually have an impact without dealing with all of the bullshit that comes with being a contractor (BD, CPEs, internal projects,etc).
No. At that level you're going to be supporting clients in very specific roles. You want some general "consulting" role? Get out of government, it's all staff aug.
Agree with D1. The only real perk is the quarterly bonus. Outside of that, they won't let you switch to another project that doesn't require the FSP.
