Can you find the associate who left suddenly on LinkedIn and reach out to them?
Read the red flags
Find someone who left within the past year and reach out on LinkedIn. They seem the most likely to give an honest assessment of the firm. I have done it before with good results.
I’ve also done this. Cold-message on LinkedIn and invite them to grab a coffee. You’re a lot more likely to get the unvarnished truth and this, to me, sounds like a red flag.
That sounds like a red flag to be honest. Make sure you read reviews online and see what those say. This may be a place you want to avoid if people leave suddenly like that.
Ask to speak with associates before you accept the offer. Don't ask directly but make sure they're not completely crazy, unfair and toxic.
I would go on LinkedIn and find people in the firm that I have mutual connections and politely ask if I can reach out for questions, it worked for me when I decided to join my current company
Most of the time they’re probably asked to do something unethical or against their values. I’ve been putting in the same situation before he recently actually.
They might have just gotten a new job and gave them a short notice period. Not sure what state you practice in but if it as at will state, it works both ways, which can result in a verrrry short notice period if the leaving attorney doesn’t care about not burning a bridge. I’ve seen that first had turn into comments about someone “leaving suddenly” and it mean nothing more than literally that
