Depends. At a smaller pharma or if you sell yourself really well, yes it’s possible. AD is much more realistic. D usually has direct reports and people will be nervous entrusting all someone with no real industry experience to be in charge of anyone else. If you look at roles where D is an IC and strongly reliant on your consulting experience (eg corp strat) it’s more feasible
Probably more like 225 - 275 for AD but it depends on company. 170 - 200 base, 15% bonus, ~75-100k equity over 4 years should be pretty standard
will be tough to be an effective leader with that experience in pharma..phd means nothing but cost of admission
Nothing of value to add, but when you bounce can I have your old job? 👀
EM level in pharma (with PhD) is solid director level - 1 in 10 offers may give you senior director. Pass on anything AD. Director should be around 210 base and 300-325 all in. Of course, the limiting factor is the role — it’s going to be hard to manage a team or even exist in something specific like marketing, Med affairs, or clinical development. Usual thing is exit at Director to some strategy/portfolio group, then bounce internally at 2-3 years to a GPL role or clin dev if that’s your thing
