Very tough career path these days. Used to be top analysts could pull in low 8 figures, like bankers. Regulations changed it all, now it’s no longer a profit center so salaries are significantly lower. Internet has really lowered the playing field too.

I have a friend making $140k 1.5 years out of grad. Def not bad money I thought? Doesnt it help one go into HF/PE? No attack just genuinely curious

Going the way of journalism.

Yea echoing the above points that it’s not a great place to be. My wife actually started out in ER from both undergrad and MBA, pay was total crap even at bulge brackets. All her friends are trying to go buy side or have actually pivoted into consulting

Does the bank start with a B? Lol

No exsctly, does the botique banks name start with a B? I might know it if you’re looking for insight

I’v been in digital marketing for almost 5 years. I want to switch to marketing operations or research, because I find I’m better at and more interested in market research, audience research than keyword research or writing ad copies. I applied for some marketing research and operations roles, but no luck.

I understand I don’t have enough direct experience and platform experience, like Nielsen.

Any advice?

Now i figured out that I don't like consulting. came here because of money & now I am fucked. Not able to cope up with expectations and learned just Adv. excel and SQL.
Not an introvert but here we require so much of gathering & collaboration.
Your seniors will be telling you to reach out people when you are stuck , but they are so stuffed with work that even for a very small query all day goes by.

Suggestion?switch to Data Science?

I impulsively spent $400 on concert tickets before I left my last job. Now I’m entering my third month at a new job and I’m worried it’s too early to take off to go. At the very least I would have to sign off an hour or two early to be able to make it on time. But I feel awkward asking because generally I wouldn’t take off this early. For context, I have unlimited PTO.
