Two actual problems I’ve asked myself: 1. Which Bounty paper towels is the Best Buy? There are single rolls, 2 rolls, 4 rolls, 6 rolls, 8 rolls, but then there are “double rolls”and “double plus” rolls. You can go to a supermarket online ordering site to see all the options (mine has 8 different Bounty options) and get the sheets per roll, total length, price, etc. 2. At Kohl’s, you get \$10 Kohls cash when you spend \$50. But if you use a % off coupon, the %off gets taken off first, and then if you reach \$50 or more you get Kohls cash. Is it ever better to NOT use a 30% off coupon in order to get more Kohls cash? If so, what would the original price have to be? (This is a good spreadsheet problem)

And also look at the same for 15% off coupons and 20% off coupons — that’s where it gets interesting😊

I remember in college we used calculus to determine the rate at which the radius of a toilet paper roll shrank and when you should get out another roll as a precaution. It could definitely be pulled of with high school seniors.
