I’m losing my patience more and more at my current job,. My department is small and the manager is highly incompetent. I find myself explaining basic L&D principles often to these “seasoned professionals” I don’t feel heard. today an issue I’ve raised regarding how they are reporting out metrics was revisited. The manager acted like she never heard this before when we JUST discussed it this past fall. My frustrations are showing more and more and I just don’t know handle it anymore

No advice but I’m right there with you. Beyond frustrated at work these days

1. Put it all in writing. Every piece of feedback, concerns your raise, ideas you have, questions you’re answering, etc. make sure it’s all done via email. If it happens to be in an in person convo, follow up with an email recapping the convo. Receipts are the only way. 2. Start applying. You’re burnt out. The issue sounds systemic, the only change that’s coming is the change you can control— find a new gig with people who you think are smart and that you can learn from. Good luck.

Here's the situation.
I'm a freelance accountant. I have several part time clients, and one main 30-40/hr/week client. This is about the big one. The company has two co-presidents, but for the sake of clarity I'll call the person I directly report to the COO and the other the CEO - note the CEO also is the founder of the company. Again, I report to the COO. The COO is "working" in exchange for greater equity in the company and a crap ton of pay along the way. Cont.

I posted an opening on my team on my LinkedIn. I’m not the hiring manager. Someone I do not know reached out and said she knew someone for the job. She passed along the resume. I asked if she applied online and said I was happy to put her resume in front of the hiring manager. The person let me know her contact had not applied, and had questions. So, I should emailed her. Is this normal? I was a little out off because if I was the candidate I would reach out myself.
