I’m actually a big proponent of masking. My real personality doesn’t make me an effective advocate. But the lawyer-character I play? He’s confident, authoritative, and when he speaks the room listens. And then I go home and think how silly it is that I fooled them all again, completely forgetting about work (because those aren’t my problems, those are Lawyer-Man’s problems).
F though sometimes I feel like my meds make more more chatty
Can you time meetings around when your meds are least effective? Example, if you have extended release then when the first release is mostly worn off, but the second hasn’t kicked in. Alternatively, can you switch to an immediate release and try to schedule all your meetings in the mornings? I know you only have so much control over your meetings, but even if you can only shift a handful, could help with the overall vibe
Sometimes speaking up can just mean asking a question to clarify a direction. Don't feel like you need to be pushy or truly add to a conversation if you don't feel like you understand XYZ yet. Maybe they just want you to pop up and nod and be like that's a great idea I agree with so and so. It'll look like you both understand and are more of a team player.
I was specifically told that I’m not coming across as confident in my opinions and is house be contributing more there
Are you a woman/racial minority?
If yes I suspect that has a lot more to do with the feedback you're getting than when you're taking your meds
