Try goodrx or something for coupons. Haven’t used it yet but I’m about to since my Rx was expensive too!
Follow up- finally used goodrx. The coupon brought a ~$150 med down to $70. I could have gotten it cheaper by filling it elsewhere but I stuck with CVS. One point to note - the goodrx coupon is processed like insurance so it requires an extra step at the pharmacy/a bit of a longer wait. Still worth it imo.
There are manufacturers coupons online for vyvanse that save up to $60 a month - not great considering the price Caremark is giving you but it’s something. Check the covered drug list in your plan documents to confirm that vyvanse isn’t covered at all (which is what it appears based on the pricing).
Talk to your doctor about this - oftentimes they/their office can reach out to the powers that be to confirm that this is the best drug from you and that there’s no adequate substitute. I had to do that before to deal with an issue where I could only take a name brand drug (generic gave me allergic reaction). It worked wonders. Good luck!
Have you met your deductible this year?
Your new plan might not cover anything until deductible is met. It’s not unusual.
Yikes! Yeah, I’d use GoodRx. I used it one month when my insurance was being absurd.
I have the same prescription and have had issues. I had to try something else that was generic/cheaper (I hated it) before my insurance (not Caremark) agreed to pay for the higher priced one. The manufacturer also has a coupon. So sorry you’re dealing with this.
No but on my previous plan prescriptions were still covered partially, including this one. Also other prescriptions are covered they just seem to be choosing not to cover this particular one

This is something I experience with Vyvanse. I
You have to figure out what is covered by your insurance.
There is no generic for Vyvanse. So, they may not be covering it. My insurance only covers generic versions of ADHD medications.
Thanks everyone!
At least you get a Vyvanse Rx. My doc is against it for some reason so I have to keep taking adderall. I really don’t like how hard it hits you…

You might try extended release Concerta. It really is an extended release and it’s tolerable enough that I usually take it one day of the weekend so I can get personal things done around the house.
Vyvanse has coupons online to lower cost https://www.vyvanse.com/coupon/mobile-card
GoodRx should be able to get you down to the $300-$400 range. I haven’t made the switch to Vyvanse yet for this exact reason, but have been debating it!
That’s the best news! Hoping they don’t file for an extension on the patent.
