I’m on H1-B valid till September 2022 and then eligible for 3 year extension. Deloitte won’t sponsor for greencard until end of 2023 I think.

If I wanted to take a 6 months break and go home. How do I go about it? Does that affect my immigration prospect here negatively? Do I lose time on my h1b? If my company sponsors me, can I take a leave of absence after that?

Please share some insights as I really need a break but I don’t want to lose 6 years of hard work and lose my path.

Does it matter if I don’t meet the specific job requirements when transferring H1B? The job posted requires CPA license but I haven’t got it. The employer is still willing to hire me. I know for PERM process, meeting minimum requirements is important but not sure if H1B have such requirement. I heard that for H1B as long as it’s a position requiring bachelors degree and specifically occupation that should be fine. But kinda worried about this.
