I'm reading a book that dives into the differenxe between a leader and just a manager. I realized as I’ve gotten further in my career, managers give less guidance and moreso simple check-ins.

Do you expect managers to actively help develop you professionally, or is career growth mostly self driven after a certain point?

Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer?
