I'm starting a home health agency and I'm having second thoughts because of how saturated the market is. Anyone have any experience working at a home health care agency that can share some insight into the industry?

I've actually heard people say that it's hard to find good home health aides and nurses. It's all about making positive connections & actually adding value to people's lives. If you do that, you certainly won't have trouble finding clients. You'll have to hire more people to keep up with the need for your services. Good luck (and don't give up)... people need what you want to offer!

Hello, I have Home Health experience?

like

Great! What kind of experience?

I wouldn't worry too much about that. I really think that Covid changed the game and created unlimited opportunity for home health care. There may be competition, but I still think it's a lucrative avenue to pursue.

I think now is the perfect time to join home health care. It's only going to become more important, and the pandemics don't look they're stopping any time soon. I think regardless of how saturated the market is, if you're skilled at what you do, it'll be worth it.

This is true

Hi! Where are you located, if you don’t mind? I’ve been in home health care in NYC since 2014. I agree with Home Healthcare Manager 1. If you go big on quality, you’ll stand out from the crowd for sure.

Why do recruiters never tell you which agency they want to talk to you about until they get you on the phone? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time and it would be helpful to know this info from the initial outreach. My experience with this only applies to healthcare, but would imagine it’s the same in consumer as well. Anyone?

New to the U.S., is the Healthcare Industry (via HIPAA), the only industry in the U.S. that legally mandates having a designated Privacy Officer? Hi 🐠. I have a sibling that recently emigrated to Toronto and trying to land into healthcare consulting. Her background: MD degree, PhD in public health and currently doing diploma in cybersecurity. All of her degrees are from Asia. She has mostly spent her career as an academic in Asia and has extensive research and publications in public health. Any suggestions on what types of opportunities exist for her in Toronto?

Looking for guidance. I’ve been in people manager roles (in director/senior leader capacity) for the last 5 years now, and prior to that I was a “rockstar” Project Manager. I’ve worked really hard to get to the position I’m in today, but I’ve been recently asked to move from my current role to a senior IC role to take on a highly visible Program for the company, with some very senior stakeholders. I feel conflicted as it does feel like I would be backtracking in many ways. Thoughts?

Have you ever been racially discriminated against in a personal healthcare situation/not at work? While you were ill or in the hospital? Obviously horrible when it happens to anyone but it takes the cake for me when white people in healthcare discriminate about Black people when they don't know they work in the same field and know how they should be treated.
