I’m supposed to be traveling from USA to Europe next week for 12 days. Paris, Amsterdam and Mallorca. Given the travel disruptions happening all over, should I cancel or postpone my travels? What’s the travel situation in Europe? Any thoughts or perspectives would be appreciated. Thanks!

You will be totally fine in those spots. We just got back from 10 days in Europe.

Thanks for the input. The TSA situation here in the U.S. is hellish though and not sure it’ll get any better in the next two weeks.

Be exceptionally risk averse with us airport arrival time pre boarding & connections (where you have to go landside). Once in Europe, you’re gonna be fine. Entry in the us could be a mess; follow the similar risk averse approach to layovers

like

Yes not sure if you have global entry with TSA pre check but this speeds it up

You got my exact itinerary, this what I want to do early summer if not April

We just got back. TSA worked well but in depends on airport, terminal, day, and time of day.

This is only a US departure issue and seems to be isolated at a few airports. I flew from DEN on Sunday evening. It took me 9 minutes from getting off the shuttle to clearing security. I’m flying today from a secondary airport in Los Angeles. 2 minutes to clear security. This is definitely not an issue I would reschedule a big trip over. Hope you aren’t in Houston or Atlanta.

Where are you flying from? My airport wasn’t bad Monday, flew into Costa Rica with no issues

Just got back from 2 weeks in the Netherlands. There are a few political protests, but that is pretty common for Europe. Of course in Europe you can have a train strike at any point- there was one in the Netherlands a couple days before I arrived.

I was very glad that my connections were in Europe and not the US. My home airport is denver and we have been fortunate to have pretty minimal tsa impacts.

One of your roommates (and a close friend that you’ve known for years) has a flight to catch. He has a suitcase, a duffle bag (no wheels), and a backpack. In order for him to get to the airport would you:

A) offer to drive him to the airport that’s about .5 miles away (5 minute drive)

B) tell him to order an Uber since you know his work would pay for it

C) tell him to not be lazy and walk half a mile to the nearest public transportation stop, with all that luggage, and take public transit

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me what you make as a typical banquet/events manager for salary or per hour? I’ve worked for Marriott/Bonvoy at the Ritz and for the Curio Collection with Hilton as a bartender/server/banquets captain. Now I’m working for a privately owned hotel and as a manager role in Banquets/Events. Because of pandemic times, what is everyone else making?

I recently joined a company after being self employed. I’m on hubs’s health insurance. We have no kids. It’s United healthcare. The company offers United as health insurance. What’s the best way to compare plans? I have not been in this situation before so apologies in advance if this is a dumb question.

Now I am getting calls from EY GDS for interviews.

I am not sure if u should attend the interview or not at GDS.
When I shared this scenario with my EY IN HR, she said please don't attend it may create conflict and you may also get blacklisted.

EY GDS HR is like, you can attend the interview, there's no problem at all. We don't have such a policy. Please suggest what decision I should make.
