6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. For anyone who is burnt out and looking to leave big law and go to a midsize, do your research. I was one of those people and I can tell you the grass is NOT greener on the other side. It’s a myth. In retrospect, I should’ve stayed and set better boundaries and not have taken this 35% pay cut.

Help evaluating potential move please. I was at my first firm for 3 years. I got scalped at the start of biglaw hiring craze and it was awful. I honestly made it 6 months and jumped ship. I love my current firm but it’s my 3rd firm in now 3 1/2 years. I did move to explore a different practice area and love it.
