I'm thinking about returning to work after a 3-year break with my babies, and the imposter syndrome is real! I love being a nurse, but I’m scared I’ve forgotten the basics and won't be fast enough anymore. For those who took time off for family, how did you handle the first few weeks back?

Trust me when I say, it will come right back to you. I felt the same way after being on FMLA for 12 weeks. The first day everything came right back to me and it all felt normal again.

That’s one of the great things about nursing…. High demand, short supply. You’ve got the skills and nursing judgment- don’t sweat it.

No it’s like riding a bike !

Would it be difficult to get a job in IA if most of my experience has been auditing private non-404 asset mgmt funds? I really enjoy process walkthroughs when I have them though. Also, does title matter that much in IA? I’m a manager now, but based on job descriptions it looks like I might have to go for a senior auditor role because audit manager roles generally call for 8+ years from what I’m seeing. Can title be negotiated?

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??
