I’m trying to get “back into the groove” after the holidays, but my pipeline still feels like it’s waking up slowly. Half my prospects are in kickoff meetings all week and the other half are pretending their inbox doesn’t exist. Is anyone else spending January doing more “restarting conversations” than actually moving deals?

How would someone coming from mostly retail wireless sales get into the tech sales industry? I have been a top performer in every sales job that I have had since I started my career almost 10 years ago. I don't have a degree which I feel might be keeping me from getting my foot in the door but I know I would be amazing in this field. Is it a red flag if, after almost two years in a full quota carrying and selling role I want to take a lower role at another company in order to break into a field (tech sales) I want to work in? It’s better pay - closer to home and at a company with a better reputation?

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

I left my job about a year ago to relocate, make sure it was the right decision and start a side business in the mean time. Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? I don’t have my side business listed on my resume because I don’t feel like I have enough positive “stats” to report yet given it’s new. Any advice or recommendations?
