I’m working as an allocator in market neutral public market strategy funds; am about to be recommended for a promotion to associate. However, an analyst position just opened up internally in Credit, which is where I aspire to be for the next ten years. More growth and more intellectual challenge. I’m conflicted about applying for a lateral transfer and losing out on a promotion. Will I be missing out a promotion or should I negotiate a promotion as part of my application to this role ?

He has applied fr the match last yr & was nt able to match. Match process costs around USD10k; this year he is applying again after borrowing funds frm different sources bt he is under tremendous pressure to get match. I have an informational interview with a Managing Director on Friday about a manager role. I currently serve in a client services role and do not have traditional consulting experience (billable hours, etc.). MM shop, inv team role, I did a final round last week (my XXth IV so far) with one of the GPs. I honestly thought it went great. Haven’t heard a thing since though. Recruiter thinks I’m still in it cause of Christmas-Hol.

What do we think: Am I still in it or not a chance?

Finished final round interviews and got notified I moved onto the final step - references. Is it safe to think I’m the only one at this step? Or is there typically multiple candidates still considered

I’m interviewing at Google’s Treasury team. The role would be as a rates analyst managing their portfolio - primarily cash and short duration fixed income products (100bn aum). TC: ~150k, not sure of breakdown.

I currently work as a quant/middle office at a very well reputed mutual fund, but this is not a market facing role. TC: 125k, but they have a very generous profit sharing plan that contributes 25% of my pay to retirement accts if I stay for 6 years, so ~160k?

Any thoughts?
