…… and I teach at a private school after teaching public for 30 years.
I am living my BEST life…. I have super administration, awesome parents who CARE…
And I am making equitable wages to the public schools.
I am also in FLORIDA, with the BEST Governor who makes all of this possible.
😃
...by making sure the public schools underpay their teachers so egregiously.
Where I am, not a single private school pays more than public. Good luck.
Publics usually pay better than private schools. Privates often, not always, have a better work environment.
I taught at a parochial school that paid less than half what public schools paid.
I would say location will play a huge part in this. I have looked around just out of curiosity a few times. For many of the positions, the salary really wasn’t all that different, barring a small amount of jobs and certain schools. I have heard some good stories from private schools, but no idea if that is the norm or not. But haven’t heard much when it comes to above and beyond salaries.
Private schools typically pay less than public schools, and they may require you to do other things like cover other classes without extra pay, or in a couple of schools where I worked, I had to clean my own room. If money is the issue, you should stick with public if you can find a job.
Really? Interesting to see this post from Florida
