In a tight spot, I am on a long-term project, but I am also interviewing at a couple of other companies. With the recession coming, should choose another job if I get selected or stay at ACN...I am in the SAP space. I am M1 and I make around 160k and if I get selected I my base would be around 180K. The last thing I want to do is get laid off because I have a newborn at home.

160 to 180 wouldn’t be enough of a jump to make me quit. 160 to 200, maybe

Which one would lay you off because you have a newborn at home? Congrats btw! :)

You’re welcome! If I had to choose between recession and staying or going. I stay unless I’m miserable. That bump isn’t worth it. I’d have to build an entire new support network.

You’ll be bulletproof for maybe 90 days at least if you take the newer opportunity. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

All depends on which company gives offer and it’s financial status

What makes you think that the current "long term project" is safe from cuts / SOW adjustments.l?
When a recession hits, the easiest costs to cut are variable outsourced expenses.

Safer to be an internal source of expertise.

I guess it's not "safe" but it's been an ongoing project for the past few years.

I left Accenture in December for a 25% raise in B4, but I’m feeling a bit uneasy with consulting culture . I was used to Tech roles in Accenture, but B4 seems to be heavily focused on Project Management. I’d want to boomerang back to Accenture, but it sounds like Accenture is bench heavy at this point.

My friend ( in Accenture) mentioned that SAP bench is growing in Canada.

Hi Fishes,

Could someone help answer this.
I have a offer from CTS and I'm considering joining here but I've heard a lot of bad remarks regarding bench policy.

Now I'm worried whether i will get a project once I join here or will I get kicked out in 30 days if not.

Tech stack: Mulesoft

This is the first time I'm switching companies so I'm really worried about how life will be if I take the risk and join here.

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin. I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.

Anyone in downtown bk or Williamsburg wants to join our board game group?

We are currently a group of 3, but one person is moving to west coast soon, which reduces our board game options and complexity!

We tend to hangout with limited groups of friends and meet up at least every other week. So ideally just want to find 1-2 more like-minded people to join us.

If you are interested, please leave a comment with what are your top 3 board games and a description of your personality :)

What is a simple way to explain to my boyfriend that investing in equity with an expected return of 10% is better than paying off debt that is growing at a rate of 6%. He has student loans and is adamant that he wants to pay all of them off immediately before saving any retirement money. I understand that many individuals use this strategy but I think investing in index funds for the long haul is better from a wealth accumulation perspective, without even factoring in tax implications of 401k
