I’d much rather have a boring slow stable job in house then a fast hectic and unstable job at agency
Been there, done that - I just want the check to fund my lifestyle

Making things like what? Decks?
always a felt a tad disingenuous when agency creatives get high and mighty about “craft” or “making shit,” as if it isn’t a VFX artist by a production studio hired by an agency producer actually taking the idea from concept to reality.
if you actually wanna make shit, go to a small indie where you have no choice but to be hands-on. our account managers are quicker to mock up a concept than half the holdco art directors i know

The only things being made at most agencies right now are decks, meetings, and insulting severance packages worth 3 weeks pay or less.
I’ll gladly take your in-house job if you don’t want it.
Seriously.
Did we get fired from the same agency, ACD1?
I’m actively pushing things in-house right now. Doing what I can to keep my skills up. The stability, paycheck, kindness, and logging off at 5-6 is a freakin’ game-changer though.
If it makes you feel any better, I’m also not making things.
In house is great. Twice the salary half the work.
Sometimes I miss being agency side when I see all the flashy ideas coming in from our agency partners, then I remember my five figure annual bonus and pension and am content with making content for social. 🙏

No, what you miss is sitting on big couches and having Starbucks brought to you. You can make plenty of things in house.
And the best part is, your in-house partners — your co-workers — will help you make things despite your shitty attitude about them.

You know what, I thought the post was about in-house production, and I was WRONG. My comment came from an entirely unrelated place.
Sorry! 😳 I’d delete it if I could.
actively looking to go client side.
If you want to make things, that’s what your (presumedly) stress free evenings are for.
Stick with in-house.
Hmmm exactly what “things” did you “make”
