I lost several close to me to drug overdoses in the past 2 years. I'm grateful that many of my friends and family have chosen recovery this year. It brings me so much joy to see them live a healthy and stronger life without addiction

Awesome!

I have a wonderful new job that makes me truly happy to go to every day and a husband that I am so glad to come home to each night. ❤️

I’m thankful for the myriad of companies out here who are committed to changing the culture by becoming more inclusive. Even for the baby steps and the missteps. I’m not even mad at the ones who are only being performative. Change can happen in spite of intentions. But it can’t happen if nothing is being done at all. I’m thankful for every drop that’s filling the bucket. I’m also thankful for the renewed energy to get up and fight for this purpose every day. Aluta continua! (The struggle continues!) 🖤

Been hell of a year so far. Sort of bittersweet. Lost my job a few months back. Laid off the first time. But my net worth is all time high. And not only that, this has been the fastest increase. 401k up 40% this year. Personal brokerage up 40%. And just refinanced at 2.5. Not sure whether to be sad or happy. Guess will go with happy for now.

I'm in desperate need of tips to get genuine buy in from our predominantly white, male senior leadership to create a more inclusive environment. As is often the case, middle management and below is very diverse and then at Director+ it gets much more homogeneous. So far any real initiatives get shot down in favor of performative actions to post on SM. Is this just how it is, or can we try something different?

General question: Is there any room in corporate America for real, actionable DE&I discussions and initiatives? I've observed so many corporate versions become an advertising strategy (SM posts, diversity reports) without doing the actual work (increasing representation in senior leadership, salary analyses, having an effective reporting system for bias). Is this just how it is?

I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being.
