Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I would have a conversation with them but come into that conversation with data and numbers. Do your research on market comp for the role you're looking at and match your value to a number in the range. So when you have your conversation you can say that this is what the market range is and this is where you believe you lie based on your current skills.

if the scope of the role has changed, i think you can bring up the fact that you want to be compensated for how the role has shifted. They've made you an offer already? I think you negotiate for a more fair salary on the basis of how the role has changed
the scope of the role hasn’t changed. They looked at my years of experience, and aligned it to an analyst level instead of the senior analyst level position that I completed the entire interview process for. From my understanding, it’s the same work
