Interviewing for an industry manager role, and I am given technical questions to answer in presentation. Any advice? This is my first time presenting something in interview. Thank you

For the presentation, focus on clearly explaining your approach to the technical questions. Less can be more! Just make sure you are hitting all the points. You can consider answering in terms of how it will impact business, strategy, financial planning, etc. Use this as a chance to demonstrate your leadership and know-how. Now all that being said, it has been a LONG time since I’ve had to do any of that.

I did a 6 month industry stint when I was a senior. Moved back to my hometown 6 months later, wasn’t for me at all. Work on the same client basically the rest of your career. Then to get promoted someone has to leave or get promoted themselves to make room for you. People are usually all married w kids so if your single at this point and like to have fun at work I suggest you really look into the demographic of the company. Public accounting is hard work, but it is also a lot of fun to work with professionals like yourselves. Have new people come in all the time. Not to mention the quick career progression and comp increases!

Hey everyone! I’m struggling to decide whether I should pursue a full time MBA or a Part Time MBA. Truly, what scares me about a full time one is the fact that I won’t work for two years. I know it’s a big investment and I’ll be rewarded for ir later on, but the thought of it still scares me. I would love to get someone’s thoughts on this! Is the experience very different? Will I be exhausted if I do the part time? Is there something I’m not considering when it comes to the Full Time?

Does anyone know what busy season is like at SAX LLP? The role is permanently remote except when needed to go to clients. That seems very broad to me, will I have to commute to clients often?

I have a great opportunity on the table that’s currently work remote with the end goal of returning to the office 1-2 times a week when it’s safe. However, after the past couple months, I don’t see myself returning to live in the big city. Has anyone requested to work fully/mostly remote with a new offer? How did it go? How did you request it so it seems beneficial? Thanks 🙏🏼

Everyone complains about high healthcare costs in the US. I understand that it’s a complex problem including drug prices, insurances etc. But no one talks about the high physician salaries. Why do surgeons make near a million in the US while they make $250K in Canada?

The artificial supply limitation should end.

Curious what others think about this: a friend of mine has a couple of months of leave this fall to study for the CPA exam (they’ll be paid a reduced salary during their leave), but they mentioned they have no intention of studying for the exam, and instead plan to use that time to look for another job. This rubs me the wrong way, but wanted to hear what others think…

Jumped from public to a job in a place run by boomers but I just wanted out of public so I took the first offer that came to me. 5 months in and I realized it's not a good fit at all. Mainly the CFO thinks no one should be working from home, and working from anywhere but the office is considered a day off to him. Is this a good reason to apply for other jobs right now?
